Community Partners of North Texas
Community Partners of North Texas was formed to create an alliance between the public and private sectors of our commmunity. It's mission is to support the Child Protective Services Staff of North Texas by bridging the gap between the reduced supply of state funds and the increasing need for intervention on behalf of our children.

Community Partners of North Texas has the following programs helping children:
The Rainbow House
The Rainbow House is an emergency resource center managed by Community Partners of North Texas.
Community Partners Rainbow House puts children first. Since 1996, the Rainbow House in Wichita Falls has been providing exceptional services for abused and neglected children from birth to 18 years of age providing CPS caseworkers 24-hour access to emergency resources. In 2006, the generous support of folks like you allowed us to achieve positive results in the lives of 1,863 children.
The Rainbow House is a store-like setting with 3,000 square feet donated by Patsy's House, the local Children's Advocacy Center. Community Partners of North Texas provides ervices to Archer, Clay and Wichita Counties. When a child is removed from their home due to severe abuse or neglect, they may come to the CPS office wearing only a diaper or the clothing on their backs. In this time of crisis, new clothing, shoes, diapers, formula, car seats, cribs and school supplies help with the transition into a safer place. Every item in the Rainbow House is donated or purchased from donations. New clothes and essential supplies create a sense of belonging and hope-that things in their lives will, and are, getting better.
Promoting the mission of the Rainbow House by:
- Assisting families served by Child Protective Services by providing new clothing and other basic life sustaining resources needed when emergencies occur
- Minimizing caseworker stress by providing a support structure
- Assisting in providing life-sustaining resources needed for their case families
- Maximizing caseworkers' limited time and effectiveness so a positive impact can be made on children and their families
- Decreasing caseworkers' response time to the critical needs of children who have been abused, abandoned or neglected
- Aiding caseworkers in establishing initial rapport with children and families by having tangible items available to meet their needs
Adopt-A-Caseworker
Adopt-A-Caseworker is a program that allows individuals, families, churches, civic groups, businesses or corporations to provide ongoing help directly to families and children through a Child Protective Services caseworker. A caseworker who has been adopted identifies the need of the children on his/her caseload, and then can call upon the adoptive sponsor to meet those needs. Without the adoptive sponsor, the Child Protective Services caseworker could spend hours attempting to locate resources. Adopted workers can spend that valuable time working directly with the family to address more serious safety issues.
Contributions might include helping a young mother supply diapers and formula to her newborn child; providing a family with basics like a bed, a pair of shoes or a heater; or providing a cash account for the adopted caseworker to purchase necessary items for their clients. The most common means of support is providing cash assistance.
Child Protective Services staff matches caseworkers with adopting sponsors who make a one-year, non-binding commitment. The caseworker then contacts the adopting sponsor when a family or child is in need of help.
Easter Basket Drive
Every spring, the Rainbow House collects Easter baskets for children. These are distributed to children who live in their own homes or in the homes of relatives. Without this program, these children would not have Easter baskets. Baskets are collected from businesses, churches, organizations and individuals.

Back-To-School Drive
Sometimes the difference between a child who is successful in school and one who is not is paper and a pencil. Many children served by Community Partners of North Texas simply do not have the tools to help them be successful in school. School supplies are collected from July through mid-August.
