Tired of looking at the same old walls during your lunch hour? Experience a change of scenery and join Greater Texas Community Partners in the Wilson District for its “Lunch and Learn” Series.
“Lunch and Learn” Series
This four-part series is designed to raise awareness of abused and neglected children and includes a panel discussion, two guest author appearances by persons affected by abuse and neglect and an intellectual speaker offering resources to assist children, parents and caretakers in mending broken homes.
Part I
Part I of this series will feature a panel discussion with participants of the Preparation for Adult Living (PAL) Program. The PAL program started in 1986 to ensure that older youth in substitute care are prepared for their inevitable departure from the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services' care and support. This panel will discuss how the PAL program provides youth with skills and resources they will need to be healthy and productive adults and will provide insight on issues faced by youth aging out of care.
